| Shops and shop fronts are major elements in many town centres and particularly in Conservation Areas. Some shop fronts in Listed Buildings are of architectural and historic interest in their own right, but all shop fronts have a contribution to make to the character of the street or town centre. |

| PROJECT TITLE: Proposed replacement of existing High Street shop front in a Conservation Area |
| |
| As was existing with 2-panel glazed shop front and 2 doors |
After completion with 3 panel glass frontage and single entrance door with disabled access |
| |
The existing shop front had rotted in a number of places and although it had been patched up over the years, it was beyond reasonable repair. The proposal was to replace it, and at the same time expand the shop front a distance of 1m to include the existing glazed entrance door, with a new access to the shop via a passageway shared with the adjoining shop. This would also provide disabled access. |
